Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
With all that is going on in the world today especially in the Mideast, the terrorism and financial unrest, many ask, “Why doesn’t God do something?” As a matter of fact, He has done something. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:9–10).
All who receive Christ are forgiven all their sins, become a child of God and are given eternal life. But don’t overlook the most astounding truth in the universe. The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Col. 1:26–27). Amazing ! Unbelievable!! Christ in you, Christ in me!!! How can it be? It is the greatest mystery in the world, but it has been revealed. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me (Gal. 2:20). Christ is my life (Col. 3:4) and I am one spirit with Him (1 Cor. 6:17). It is also the most liberating truth and the only answer for bondage and addiction. When a person understands and believes the truth of Gal. 2:20 they will know that they are dead to sin and freed from it (Rom. 6:6, 7) and will experience their freedom in Christ (Gal. 5:1). The most stunning, shocking and startling truth is that there is nothing to do to get free, but believe the truth (John 8:32) of what Jesus accomplished on the cross with His finished work.
